Florida’s premier high school research group for experimental rocket technologies.

The Fab Lab Rocketry Club, Team True Fire, is a student-run organization representing 8 local schools who team up to design, construct, test, and launch rockets throughout the school year and summer. Led by current Riverview High School student, Daniel Desear, the club aims to launch its rocket to at least 10,000 ft by the summer of 2025. Students actively engage in the fields of physics, aerospace engineering, computer programming, chemistry, and marketing.

Students are guided through the rocket building process with professional mentors. Our main mentor, Russell Finger, is a Fab Lab board member and physics, chemistry and calculus teacher at Suncoast Polytechnical High School. Students in this club spend their time creating and testing rocket fuel, designing and manufacturing rocket motors, constructing rocket bodies, programming various electronics, competing in the American Rocketry Challenge and learning how to promote the club to potential sponsors.
